At Dep Learn, we believe every student and parent has total ownership over their personal information. In accordance with the Google Play Developer Policy and Section 12 of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, we provide both an immediate in-app deletion mechanism and a remote web/email procedure for users who have uninstalled the app.
Method 1: Instant In-App Deletion (Recommended)
Fastest method if the Dep Learn app is currently installed on your device.
- Open the Dep Learn application on your Android device.
- Tap on your Profile Avatar in the top-right corner of the Home screen.
- Scroll down and select Settings & Privacy.
- Tap on Account Management > Delete Account & Data.
- Confirm your decision when prompted. Your active session will terminate immediately and your personal records will enter our automated 48-hour purge queue.
Method 2: Remote Request via Email (App Uninstalled)
Use this if you no longer have access to the mobile application.
Send an email to our dedicated data privacy desk at [email protected] with the subject line “Account and Data Deletion Request - Dep Learn” containing:
1. Registered Mobile Phone Number OR Google Account Email
2. Registered Student Full Name
3. Reason for deletion (Optional): E.g., Completed Class 10 Boards, Changing Phone, etc.
Our Data Protection Officer will verify ownership by dispatching a confirmation OTP to your registered phone or email before processing the purge to prevent unauthorized deletion attacks.
What Data Is Purged vs Retained?
- Full Name, Phone Number, Email, and Profile Avatar.
- Authentication tokens, refresh sessions, and device push tokens.
- Mistake Bank individual logs and targeted question history.
- Unspent virtual QuizCoins balance and streak counters.
- AI Tutor chat transcripts and conceptual doubt history.
- Payment and order transaction records if paid subscriptions or test packs were purchased (retained as required by applicable Indian commercial and tax accounting laws).
- Completely de-identified aggregate difficulty statistics (e.g., “Question #412 had a 34% aggregate community error rate” with no student IDs).
Guaranteed 48-Hour Processing Turnaround
Once verified, all active database records are wiped immediately, and automated rolling disaster-recovery backups are completely purged within our standard 30-day backup expiration cycle. You will receive an official confirmation email once data erasure is completed.
